Abita Root Beer brings a good homey feel to your root beer drinking experience. Overall, a little below average for a premium drink, it is unfortunately a little weak in flavor. What you can taste however is good flavor.

A&W is a classic brew. Not trying to be flashy or unique it thrives on the fundamentals. It is a good solid all around root beer. It’s a brew that everyone can love, and can keep going back to time and again that will never disappoint.

Barq’s has got a few things going for it. It is one of the only caffeinated root beers on the market. Of the mass market brews it also is the only one with a distinct licorice flavor. Though not gormet, Barq’s is a solid brew.

Boylan’s is what you want if you’re looking for a root beer with a burn. Other Boylan’s highlights are the pure cane sugar, and licorice like flavor. This is an all around solid brew but not one for a pansy drinker.

Bulldog is definitely a premium brew. With a strong, smooth and consistent flavor, it is great all around. This is a brew that is a little sweeter than some, with a natural cane sugar taste. The vanilla and honey are a great touch.

Capt’n Eli’s is an enjoyable brew. It has a good strong attack, and with this brew it’s mark is the licorice like flavor caused by the anise. This is another good solid brew, not a true stand-out but one you can sit down and enjoy.

Dad’s Root Beer is marked by it’s mintyness. With a very light carbonation, it has a poor body, but at the same time could be an aquired taste for some, perhaps. Dad’s was not a favorite for us.

Gray’s root beer is known for it’s sweet honey flavor. Though overall it is a very average root beer with a flavor that dies off quickly. Not a bad root beer by all means, but definitely not a stand out root beer at all.

IBC Root Beer is your classic root beer. One that is it often a go-to for a root beer with a meal. Though it isn’t quite the quality of your premium root beers, it is definitely the Cadillac of your mass market root beers.

Point Premium is almost a light beer. Not necessarily in calories but in the way it sits with you. Great flavor but not heavy and not as prominent as you may like. With a meal this might be a top pick for you.

Sprecher Root Beer is a quality root beer. Very heavy in its nature it is not to be consumed by the faint hearted. This root beer could be better, but would also be a great substitute for someone who has to wait a while for a meal.
